Your payment reference numbers (or EFT codes) are different for each of your tax accounts for example income tax, FBT, BAS, or super).
You need to use the correct payment reference number when paying your tax or super to:
ensure your payment is credited to the correct account
- avoid action to correct the error (find the missing payment and request a transfer)
- avoid unnecessary delays or debt collection activity.
How we can help
We can find the relevant reference number on your statement of account, notice of assessment or payment slip. If you have lost your statement, we can use the ATO portal to generate a payment reference number (EFT code) for their correct account or a personalised payment slip.
