Being a CEO is more than a job; it’s a lifestyle choice. And for many that lifestyle is lack there of. Most CEOs are busy – very busy – they don’t have the luxury of being able to waste time on apps like Candy Crush or Facebook. So what apps do they use to actually maximise their time?

  1. Flipboard

Flipboard is a beautifully designed app that brings together the news and world all together for users into a personal magazine. Flipboard allows its millions of users to keep up with news, follow keywords/topics that they are interested in and share influences in a time affective way and all in one place. With Flipboard users can read their social media feeds, as well as world class publications such as The New York Times, PEOPLE magazine, Fast Company, and Vanity Fair. By keying in ‘favourite topics’ users can also keep track of their companies public profile and that of their competitors.

  1. OmniFocus 2

There are plenty of the productivity and task management apps available on iTunes and Google Play, but one of the most popular ones right now is OmniFocus 2. This app can be a little complicated, but those that are willing to learn a little bit about its functions have found that it can really pay off. One of the highlights is how many ways you can add items to your task list and how easy it is to manage small items that if missed could create big problems.

  1. Sleep Cycle

If you don’t get a huge amount of sleep you had better make sure that what you do get counts. Sleep Cycle mainly just tracks your sleep – which doesn’t increase productivity on its own. However one of the cool parts about the app is that by tracking your sleep phases by using your phone’s accelerometer – it is able to wake you up when you are in light sleep phase, meaning that you wake up feeling more refreshing and ready to take on the day.

  1. CamCard

Even though a lot of networking happens online through spaces like LinkedIn, the business networking breakfast (and the pile of business cards that comes with) it is still a staple in the business world. Perhaps the biggest problem is that many of those business cards get lost or squandered on lost time. CamCard makes it easy for users to store scanned business cards, as well as collect the contact details for use later on (as well as exporting in Excel format).
